I first began to study and practice yoga and meditation in 1995 while living in Nepal. Since then I have had the good fortune to pursue my yoga studies in India and Nepal as well as in Europe and America. I have been inspired by and caught the yoga bug from some wonderful teachers among whom I count; Hamish Hendry, Pattabhi Jois BKS Iyengar Yogacharya Venkatesh Marianne Gabriel, Charlie Stevens, Angela Farmer, Viktor Van Kooten,  Donna Farhi  and Joseph and Lilian Le Page

My particular interest in Yoga lies in the link between the physical body and the emotional and mental bodies, and in the use of yoga (asana, pranayama, mudra, bandha) as a tool for gaining insight into, and transforming, our mental conditioning.  I love the sense of practicing asana as a kind of moving meditation! Teaching yoga is like a dream come true for me, its a real gift to be able to share what I love with others and I am constantly inspired by the transformation and healing that takes place on the yoga mat, both on my own and on those of my fellow journeyers!!
On a more technical note, as well as being a qualified Contemporary Yoga Teacher, I have also completed an advanced Teacher Training course with Donna Farhi and I am currently studying for the Professional Yoga Therapist qualification with Integrative Yoga Therapy. I also hold a BA in Comparative Religions from SOAS (UCL) as well as qualifications in Thai Yoga Massage. I also founded and run Unity Yoga in Cork.

Sharon Bacon

Sharons exploration of yoga began in the early 1990s in the UK where she attended her first classes. Since then she has worked with a diverse variety of teachers and styles, developing her interest in dance and meditation. She is a holder of the Contemporary Yoga Teachers Diploma.
Yoga has become a truthful reflection and support for my journey through life. It has led me to the well of my own creativity , compassion and joy. As my journey unfolds I am constantly surprised and delighted at the gifts the practice of Yoga places before me.
